This project if focused on optimizing all of the infrastructure that IT gear uses for very large scale deployments.
This includes items like:
Physical support structures
-Racks
-Shelves and adapters
-Cable management and gear interconnects
Stable Power delivery at the Rack level and below
-power distribution system
-battery back-up
-power conversion
This project is focused on solving problems for large scale deployment like:
-fast deployment of resources to the data center
-efficient upgrade cycles
-simple physical and thermal interfaces for the data center
-quickly identifying and servicing of failed components
-extracting value from components with different lifetimes

More details about the project scope can be found in the Rack & Power Project Charter here

Get Involved

This project is open to the public and we are interested in getting the community involved to make things better.
